Risk Assessment Policy

 

Witheridge Lawn Tennis Club will carry out a full annual risk assessment of the facility with a view to highlighting potential hazards and taking the appropriate action wherever necessary to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment. 

 

Sarah Vertigan is responsible for reporting to the Committee on such issues.  If a member/user wishes to report a hazard, they should do one of the following:

  • Is the area and surroundings safe and free from obstacles?
  • Is the area fit and appropriate for the activity?
  • Is the equipment fit and sound for the activity and suitable for age group/ability?
  • Is the performers register up-to-date with medical information and contact details?
  • Are performers appropriately attired for the activity?
  • Can emergency vehicles access the facility?
  • Is there a working telephone available with emergency numbers?
  • Are emergency access points checked and opertional?
  • Are evacuation procedures published and posted somewhere for all to see?
  • Do volunteers, coaches and members have access to information relating to health and safety?
  • Are emergency procedures published and accessible to those who are responsible for sessions at the venue?

The clubhouse has no landline and we rely on players/coaches/parents to have a working mobile telephone but in the event of this not being the case, the nearest public telephone is approximately 100 metres from the clubhouse in the Square between the Newsagent and the Church.

COVID-19:  All members of the club have been advised of the special precautions they should take before and after using the court.  They are only allowed to use the court if the Government guidelines permit them to. Currently no restrictions are necessary.
